Yesteday was a long day. The procedure was delayed almost two hours due to an emergency in a previous procedure. All you can do is ride the wave and think good thoughts for others.
This was her third venogram and by far the quickest. She was taken back around 2:15. The doctor called us from the room around 3:15 and she was discharged post anesthesia by 4:30. She has to stay flat for 30 minutes after the procedure. When the timer went off at 30 minutes, she sat up and said, “Let’s go!” Sam our amazing recovery nurse had her dressed, IV pulled, and we were out the door. As she was being wheeled to the car, she told the transport gentleman, “Hurry before they change their mind.”
They did come to a big decision yesterday. They will place her kidney on the right side. Her venogram showed much better flow on the right side. He said that her left side still has some competing collaterals. Now, we wait for the donor to have one more scan on Tuesday, and we will be approved for surgery.
She’s such a strong person. We’re praying that all goes well. ????
Sienna, you are a trooper! And amazing!??????
Sending Iove and hugs to you all ????????????????????
