Our Story

Sofia (11) is a daughter, granddaughter, sister and cousin. In July 2019 she was diagnosed with P ANCA Vasculitis and Chronic Kidney Disease. By September we were informed that she will now be considered to have End Stage Renal Failure and is in need of a kidney transplant. Her care team feels that it is in her best interest to wait until next year to proceed with the transplant. In a very short amount of time her life has changed drastically. She is a very outgoing, active girl who enjoys many activities such as soccer, cheer, dance and running. She is hopeful to be back on a cheer team and on the field as soon as possible. Our battle has just begun and we would like to thank you for all of your love, support and prayers at this time. Thank you for visiting our site and just know your support will last a lifetime.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
