Our Story

Tam went into kidney failure due to polycystic kidney disease in June of 2019. She immediately went on dialysis treatments three days a week for the next 12 months awaiting a transplant.  On June 17 2020 she received a kidney transplant and after two weeks in the hospital she is now on the road to recovery.

Tam has a bachelor’s degree in psychology but has spent the last 20 years devoting her time in the fitness arena.  She has been a fitness coach, trainer and instructor.  She loves helping her clients achieve their personal fitness goals.

Her hobbies include, running (oh, so many marathons), hiking, gardening and being outdoors.  She loves spending time with her children and her Doberman, Sophie.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA also works with individuals of any age with a single-gene disorder such as Polycystic Kidney Disease, Cystic Fibrosis or Sickle Cell Disease. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law
