Abed had tons a workup done mid-January to restart his kidney search. He had genetics work done in San Antonio on Friday. Things are moving ahead again to find a kidney for him. He has healed as well as he can from losing his transplant last August. He’s been doing hemodialysis in center 3 hrs x 3 days a week since then, then moving back to peritoneal dialysis at home for 8 hrs x 7 days a week, just 2 days before Christmas. He missed the first half the year of school, doing homebound with the angel of a friend and teacher, Mrs. Linam. He went back to school for half days after Christmas break. He gets worn out easily but has been maintaining pretty well. We know a lot more about even more complex issues we found that he has that we were unaware of before. Everyone’s working hard to make sure he has a successful transplant.
