My name is Abraham Hernandez and I am 15 years old. I was born with a heart problem that the doctors said would require surgery. I got the surgery two days after my birth. I was fine for three months after that surgery. In a follow up appointment with my cardiologist he said that I was losing nutrients and would require another surgery. By the time I was 10 I’ve had ten surgeries. In 2017 I was told by doctors to better my situation that a heart transplant would be the best option. I would be losing nutrients that were vital and my heart was not able to absorb them properly. In order to move forward with the transplant I have to move to Seattle to stay at Seattle Children’s Hospital. The move to Seattle will be costly for our family. One of my parents will have to stop working while I am in recovery. If you are able to donate to COTA in my honor it will be helpful no matter how much.

Mi nombre es Abraham Hernandez y tengo 15 años. Yo nací con un problema en mi corazón los doctors no me daban mucha esperanzas dijeron que tenía que someterme aúna cirugía luego de nacer pero por milagro de Dios estuve estable dos días más y me sometieron a la cirugía. Después de esa cirugía estuvo bien unos meses. A los tres meses fui a ver a mi cardiólogo y me dijo que no tenía los nutrientes que necesitaba y que tenía que tener otra cirugía. La cirugía ayudará a que mi cuerpo retuviera los nutrients necesarios y mi corazón estuviera bien y así tuve 10 cirugías para atender mejor mi corazón. En 2017 me dijeron que podría tener una vida mejor, la opción era un trasplante de corazón. Ya que mi problema se llama pérdida de proteína que es donde todo los nutrientes no los puede absorber mi corazón. A todo esto me tengo que mudar a Seattle Children ‘s Hospital para la espera de mi corazón. Pero el mudarme a una nueva ciudad son muchos gastos para mi familia. Los cuales nosotros no contamos con tanto dinero. En este enorme cambio mi familia se va a dividir en dos y uno de mis padres dejará de trabajar. Así que no tenemos cómo ayudarnos. Si ustedes me pueden ayudar para mis gastos que vienen a través de este cambio. Tenemos que pagar los gastos que trae el moverse a una nueva ciudad y ayudar a mis papas un poco.
