This morning Alyssa received a call that UCSF had found a match for new lungs. It’s probably the scariest, yet happiest phone call our family has ever received. We are so grateful, and it’s hard to describe what we’ve all been feeling. Today has been such a blur with Alyssa’s team prepping her for surgery. She was taken into surgery at 4:00pm and her team will be working for the next 10-12 hours. Alyssa’s transplant journey started in November (and really before that with years of talking about the possibility), but now is the tough part. Our family would appreciate your prayers and good thoughts! The outpouring of support and love for Alyssa has been incredible, and we thank you for being part the journey.
