With a suppressed immune system after kidney transplant, it is difficult to live in a college  dormitory safely in the best of circumstances. The Covid-19 pandemic makes it even trickier! Gifts to COTA for Team Anni make it possible for Anni Hirtle to live in a specially set-up dorm “apartment” with 3 other girls who also need the provisions included there. Anni can stay healthy without being completely excluded from campus life. She called me her first week at school, so excited to show me her new surroundings via FaceTime. “There’s even a Dutch Bros just 5 minutes away!”

Funds given to COTA in honor of Team Anni also make it possible for Anni to get to the hospital in a nearby town for needed blood-draws and check-ups. The regular medical trips to Salt Lake City are also assisted with by COTA.

Anni’s brilliant mind is thriving while she is making friends and looking to the future. Thank you for giving! All the funds you have donated to COTA assist with a lifetime of transplant related expenses.
