Meet our heart warrior Asher. He is a smiley, happy, energetic boy. He likes Old MacDonald, throwing balls, wrestling, and reading books. Other fun facts about Asher are that he has a twin sister, an older sister, and a baby sister.
Asher was born in May 2018 with a number of heart defects. His greater arteries were switched, he had a very large hole, he only had three chambers, he had a narrow aortic arch, a leaky pulmonary valve, and narrowing in places. He had two surgeries performed in the first three weeks of life which kept him alive, but it was decided at six weeks old that he would need a heart transplant.
He came home for the first time at seven weeks old. He was home for five weeks when we got the phone call that he had a match! Everything went so smoothly and quickly and he was back home with us just ten days later. He has been doing so well with his new heart, for which we’re eternally grateful. We now get to enjoy more time with our little boy.
Now that he’s been transplanted, he will have lifelong doctor’s visits, procedures, and medications to keep his heart healthy. We’ve partnered with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to raise funds in honor of Asher to assist with transplant-related expenses. Thank you for your love and support of our son and family.
