Bailey has met her weight requirements which were 12-13kg, but needs to grow a few more inches which should be achieved in about 2-3months. Presently our transplant hospital is going to not have a transplant surgeon starting March 1st. We are still looking for a donor and still have to take Bailey to do the blood tests to find a match. If we find a donor that is a match for Bailey before her current hospital finds a surgeon then we may have to go to a different transplant facility which is not ideal. We have discussed all of what that would include at great lengths together and with Bailey’s team and decide to take her journey one month at a time so far. Bailey has been excelling at most of her hurtles. Her iron has been lower than normal so at her last appointment they did an iron infusion and then increased her iron intake. Please pray that she will not have to do very many iron infusions (they take a hour and she has to get an IV for them). Bailey has been learning more words and speaks more and more which is exciting to watch. All in all we really need her to get taller and absorb her iron better. We of course also need a donor for Bailey so if anyone wants more info on being a donor please let us know.
