Bailey is our feisty little peanut who has smashed all expectations and challenges set before her so far. From birth to her current 17 months of life, she has had many obstacles to overcome. She is the youngest of five and keeps up with all of her siblings while battling End Stage Kidney Disease. Her favorite things are dancing to music, climbing up stairs, and cuddling with her favorite blankie and toys. She also loves limes and apples. Before she was born, we knew Bailey would need a new kidney. Thankfully, she was able to get the help she needed at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Her new hurdle in her transplant journey is starting dialysis. When Bailey’s condition was first found, we were told she would need dialysis, but we are grateful that God allowed us to put it off for 17 months. Through this next step she will gain the weight she needs to begin the process of finding a new kidney. This is not only going to be an adventure for Bailey, but our whole family. We are so grateful for the family and friends who are able to be a wonderful part of her new everything. Thank you for reading.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.Our Story
