Cali Camille is 12 weeks weighing 8 lbs 8 oz. and has been on the transplant list for 39 days. She is currently still intubated, IV medications, and sedated. They started her on a heart rate lowering medicine last Friday. It works by preventing the electrical current produced by the heart’s natural pacemaker, slowing the heart rate. She has responded well to that and seems to be more comfortable. Since her heartrate isn’t getting over the 200s, she started to gain slightly more weight since she is not burning so many calories on a daily basis. They were also able to lower her sedation slightly for her to be more awake and we can interact with her more. We cannot get over her precious smile and how much of a fighter she is!! She’s meeting all the challenges given to her and continues to impress the doctors with her resilience.
