Update on our beautiful Cali. Today marks 152 days in the hospital and 53 days Post Transplant. Last Thursday they removed her clonodine patch and over the weekend she started showing signs of withdrawals, which resulted in the next couple of days of throwing up, A LOT, 23 times in 1 day/night shift on Sunday. This sedation weaning process is no joke and It’s been tough on her little body. But through it all, she’s still showing her happy, resilient self, with smiles and sass that remind us just how strong she is. As of today, we are now seeing signs we are toward the end of it and hoping this is the last big withdrawal (we’ve said this a few times before.) Apparently babies have a bad reaction with removing the clonodine patch due to their skin being more porous and absorbing more than adults. But on a brighter note, ENT came by last week and her vocal cords are perfectly fine with no aspiration concerns! So speech can come work with her on eating by mouth…. When she finally stops throwing up. Soooo we still do not have a discharge date and continue to take it a day at a time with the transition to her finally coming home. ❤️ (If anyone is wondering what is on Cali’s chest – Cora gave Cali her first sticker tattoo 🥰🥰. )Thank you all for the continued love, prayers, and support — it truly means everything to us, especially Cali. Please keep cheering her on as she continues to heal.
