Post Transplant – Day 7

Update on our beautiful Cali!! THE BREATHING TUBE IS NOW OUT!!!!!! I cannot express how much joy this brings us!! She has been intubated for 10 weeks and we pray God that it stays out. She is doing absolutely amazing! This week she had little bit of fluid around the heart, which has reduced and xray this morning shows it’s almost gone. She developed ileus due to the surgery and they had to stop feeds early this week. That has now gotten better and Cali has not had any episodes from last night into today. They hope to start feeds again tomorrow. They are still working on weaning the sedation, which this is going to be a rough process. They have to find the balance so she doesn’t experience withdrawals and she has to achieve this challenge to be able to go to the step down unit. As always, thank you everyone who continues to pray for our Cali and keeping her in your thoughts. The prayers are being answer and we are getting one step closer to her coming home. We pray that she continues on with a smooth recovery and her to get off of all these sedation drips! 🙏🏼🙏🏼. Cali is 15 weeks old and we cannot get over her strength and resilience . She is a true warrior in the tiniest package. 💪🏼💪🏼
