Post Transplant – Day 73

Update on Cali – this week and last week we have been working on strictly eating by mouth without weaning any oral sedation. It’s sets us back on the weaning schedule but we’re really hoping it moves us forward on the bigger picture schedule . She has lost the coordination on how to drink out of a bottle due to her being intubated for so long and being heavily sedated. It’s likely she won’t have it figured out soon so we have other options to be about to go home and continue working on this. We have tentatively scheduled for a Gtube to be put in place next Monday and until then, we are doing everything possible to work with her on eating through her mouth.

For the first time, we have a possible discharge date of beginning of August, if everything goes as planned. We have been 2 weeks away for 6 weeks now. We are praying so hard that this is the actual 2 week deadline and our beautiful baby Cali can finally come home!

Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support — it truly means everything to us. Please keep cheering her on as she continues to heal.
