Update from Elaine as of today Friday August 15th:

Ok everyone… the big day has come… I got the call yesterday morning from the heart team that they accepted a heart for Ethan.

He’s scheduled for transplant today at 9am at Seattle Children’s Hospital. There is no definitive timeframe for the overall surgery, but we were told it could be 8-12 hrs.

It’s been a busy flurry of activity in prepping…

Ethan is actually doing really well…worried, but excited to get this done and on the road to recovery! Jim, Grace and I are excited too…nervous, and all the feels though!

The nurses and all the staff here are just wonderful. His nurse for the night told me she’s honored to be one off his last nurses before transplant. ❤️ 

Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes so far from you all and keep them coming!

Please also pray for the donor family and their loss. I’m thankful for their choice to donate.
