Isaiah 40:30-31
“ Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
“ For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

It’s bloodwork week which means we are more aware that we are waiting for results for a week. Bloodwork used to bring anxiety but now I’m both grateful that Ethan is not anxious about bloodwork but also wish we didn’t even need to have it done.
Waiting is the hard part. We wait on a lot of things in life. Waiting for Friday, waiting in line to check out, waiting for paychecks, waiting for Christmas, waiting to fall asleep at night, waiting for news (good or bad)…. Waiting feels like a time waster sometimes….
But God….
We don’t have to wait passively. God refines us in the wait. We can wait actively knowing that God has already been there and knows the results. We know His timing is better than ours. The God who calls the stars by name already knows Ethan’s numbers before we even do the bloodwork. This gives me peace in the waiting knowing nothing surprises him. And there’s strength in that peace.
Prayers for bloodwork week…that numbers are stable or improving. With a progressive kidney disease, improving numbers can only be GOD!!
We were at 26% function two months ago. (20% is time for surgery)
Thank you for your prayers.
