Wow, October just flew by. 😮💨
The month has been filled with weekly homeschool field trips, soccer games, and costume parties on top of all the usual big family things. Dad also soft-retired from the Army (it will be official Dec 1)!
Some wins this month:
– We have had the same tubie in for almost a full month now! Hurray! Now that the weather is a tad cooler, Freya wears clothes more often at home and we keep the extra length taped to her back. We also found that her SweetCheeksFL NG tape works so much better than what we were using before. Highly recommend it to anyone who uses an NG tube.
– We are enjoying a little break from so many appointments while our transplant center gets some new providers up and running. We are really going to miss our old GI doc and NP, but we’re looking forward to meeting the new team stepping in mid-November.
– Freya is eating solids and drinking from a cup/through a straw like a champ now! This is really a big win for a liver baby with a tube.
– Freya can stand on her own longer and longer these days. I think those first steps won’t be long now. But along with all this mobility and non-stop activity comes scrapes and bumps. Toddler life! We are praising God that we get to experience it with her.
Some of her favorite things currently:
-Jack-o-lanterns, Halloween music, old skool Sesame Street, mice (still), taking pictures of herself, going for walks, and working outside with Dada.
Favorite words: “Dada,” and “this.”
