Well, we’ve had a busy couple of weeks! Sea World, the Sing Out Loud music festival, and a neighborhood end of summer pool party have been some definite highlights.

Freya has 4 teeth total now and a few more ready to come through. I think she knows how much personality they add to her face because she is laughing and smiling more than ever.

She’s also finally mobile! Crawling everywhere, pulling up to standing anywhere she can, taking steps with assistance… We’ve waited so long for her to hit these milestones, and now she’s really keeping us all on our toes. 😅 I think what’s helped her finally get there is being without her NG tube for quite a few days on and off lately. We are still having issues with keeping them in. Now that we have run through all of the tubes we had on hand and are waiting for more to come in, she is loving the freedom of getting around without getting tangled up in anything.

Last week, we were at the transplant clinic and her team told us that she has popped up on the short list for the last 4 available livers. So they said to focus on keeping her healthy and to keep our bags packed and ready. Her team also made a few little adjustments to her medications in anticipation for surgery. What a shock to hear that she could be so close to being transplanted right now! She seems so vibrant and healthy lately that I can’t imagine her back in the hospital, somewhat immobile again, and recovering from something so major. But we know that the healthier she is going into transplant, the easier recovery should be.

God has been so faithful to Freya and our family through everything. It’s amazing to think back to every challenge and to see all the ways He has brought her through the scariest situations, healed her, and surrounded us with the most amazing family and friends for support. There’s so much to be thankful for.
