January 2020 Update

We have been quiet around here for awhile. Mostly because I have been waiting for something to tell you all, but for now, the update, really, is that there isn’t much of an update!

After Christmas break, we decided that Isaac should have his school days shortened. He had been extremely tired through November and December by time he got home from school and was sleeping through most of the afternoon until bedtime. It has really thrown our sleep schedules around here for a loop! The shortened days seem to have helped a lot with his energy levels. He still has a good bit of time each day where he has a lot of energy, which is amazing!

We also went back to Ohio to do our yearly followups from Isaacs bone marrow transplant and to connect with his kidney transplant team again…there is actually not much news there! We do have a few potential donors, which is amazing! The process does take time, and if the current person they are evaluating doesn’t work out, we start the process over again…so it could potentially be quite a bit longer than we originally had planned for. We definitely feel like life is a bit on hold, not knowing what sort of a timeline we are on this coming year…Fortunately, Isaac seems to be doing well enough to keep him off dialysis for now. We are very grateful for that, and I am hopeful we will be able to avoid it all together! I feel like I can’t say thank you enough for all the people that have generously donated to COTA for Team Isaac – we have almost reached our goal amount in just a few months!! I am so overwhelmed by your generosity towards our family.

One last thing. We have about 2 weeks left before we get our Team Isaac shirts printed…if you would still like one, I will include the link below! I personally have the sweatshirt and it has been super cozy the last few weeks 🙂

I will post again when we have a donor/timeline update!

Here we have photos from our local highschools basketball game last week, a morning outing with the boys, and from one of isaacs appointments a few weeks ago. he had his first pulmonary function test and did SO amazing. he managed to make it a game…we were very proud 🙂
