Learning and growing fast March 2022

Hello Everyone,

Well I wanted to try and update monthly, but I think I missed a few months. Time just goes by so quickly. I have heard many parents say that they just want time to slow down and I feel the same way. Every day is special with our little man, and we try to soak all the moments in (tantrums included).

Jason has started learning and growing so fast. His vocabulary has really grown and he shocks us with new words and phrases every day. He knows shapes, colors, body parts, animal sounds, numbers, letters and much more. His favorite thing to do is still go outside. We often find ourselves snooping around our neighbors homes and if their garage is open he walks right in and makes himself at home.

Jason loved Christmas last year and thought that the lights were “so cool”. The holidays were a blur but it was so good to have family and experience the joy that Jason had. The new year came and went and with it more doctors appointments. So far this year we have seen our transplant team, kidney doctors, rehab team, and dermatology ( for a weird skin thing he developed that they don’t know what it is, but is healing). We got good reports from all of our doctors.  Jason is doing really well eating and we continue to decrease the amount of food he gets through his g tube. Hoping to be doing only water and medications through it in the next few months.

Momma and grandmas took Jason on his first outing (other than the local park) to the zoo recently. He wasn’t too interested in the animals except for the monkeys and instead wanted to run on the paths. He would say “running” and take off and then “watch out coming through” when people were coming the opposite way. His personality is just blossoming which is so interesting to see.

We thank you all for your donations to COTA in honor of Jason. COTA funds really do assist us with meeting our deductibles, copays, and medical expenses at the beginning of the year. I will try to be better at updating, with such a busy little guy it is hard to sit down. Thank you all again.
