Ken’s Treatments at UNC

Ken’s weekly visits to UNC – Chapel Hill continue. While there, he receives IV-diuretics to help relieve the fluid build up throughout his body. At one point, the fluid build up was causing excessive coughing, which resulted in Ken breaking a rib with the force of the cough. The other treatment he receives while at UNC is infusions of albumin, which helps keep his fluid from leaking into his tissues. This process takes about two hours from start to finish. We are so thankful for these treatments though, as they greatly increase Ken’s quality of life.
