Ladies and gentlemen, this is not an April Fools joke. Lindsey is really coming home! She had her last clinic appointment today, and the next time she will return is for either her muscle closure surgery or the annual appointment in Pittsburgh. 

Mike and Lindsey got to see everyone in clinic today including one of the surgeons, Dr. Khanna, her P.A. Lisa, her nurse coordinator Pam (yes, it’s confusing), and the social worker, Jonathan. Today was all about prepping to go home. Pam gave her lots of forms of her scripts for bloodwork to take to our local health center, and she also gave her a ton of kits for specific labs that they like to run at their own hospital. Lindsey will have virtual visits every two weeks with Lisa and Pam to check in about how labs are for the time being.

Lindsey’s labs are looking pretty good overall. She is still in a slight rejection period, but it’s not too concerning to the doctors right now. They just want to monitor it and may make slight medication adjustments.

I will be receiving my second dose of the COVID vaccine in Michigan on Saturday, and Mike will be receiving his in Pittsburgh on Monday. Lindsey will likely need to get another set of labs Monday morning, but that won’t alter her coming home status. We are all very excited to live in one location and have access to things again (especially Lindsey). They already have a ton of stuff packed up; let’s just hope it all fits in the car haha.
