Luke’s kidney function is declining and is currently around 13%. Pre-op appointments and surgery have been scheduled for the end of September. We have known since he was born that he would need a kidney transplant but I don’t think you are ever ready for your child to have major life-saving surgery. This is going to be a very busy and stressful few weeks for all of us. Unfortunately, chronic kidney disease impacts the entire family and this has been quite a roller coaster.
