Incredible stories are often created or unfold right before our eyes. As humans, we thirst for them in such a way. A force so strong, like being in love for the first time…it hurts!!
Would you recognize the early building blocks of a future story yet to be written?
A kind gesture…
A returned favor…
A reason to laugh out loud…
A moment of silence…
The list goes on and on, yet one constant remains…
Great stories derive from a series of outlying moments in time, converging, at the right time. The Crux!!!
For some, these moments pass by without a second thought.
Yesterday was a crux moment in time for me, as I partially met this new family: The Pendlums
You see, when you are terminally ill, like I am right now, your senses become heightened. I look at people now with new lenses. I’m very self aware, very outgoing, very outspoken. I try, more so today, to look into the soul of people.
There are true genuine people in this world.
There are also people who hide behind imaginary walls that our minds have constructed to self protect. And thats ok too.
After meeting Matt Pendlum yesterday, I was instantly convinced of the genuineness that him and his family exude.
Matt’s sixteen year old son is currently battling renal failure and likely will require a life saving transplant before he graduates Fishers high school. Scary!!!
The story pivots here, at the Crux, with new anticipation towards 2026 and the endless possibilities ahead of us as we turn our focus and attention to Matt Pendlum and his family who desperately need our help.
Jake and Elwood said it best…
We’re on a mission from God!!!

Thank you to the entire Pendlum family for taking the first step. Courage appears in many ways.
