Update 6/24/22: Michael’s biopsy results came back today from his scope and he has Crohn’s Disease/IBD I’m glad we finally got answers and now know why he has been in so much pain. He will have an MRI done in the next few days along with some bloodwork to see exactly what his intestines look like. GI doctor will continue him on the anti inflammatory drug for about 6 months and will then re-scope him to see how everything looks. As far as kidney related stuff goes, they are still waiting on the bk virus test results and Allosure results. If bk is still showing detected they will have to lower his immunosuppressive meds which then can be concern for rejection. As long as Allosure test comes back good, his normal baseline, they will not do a kidney biospy and we will just monitor it like we have been.
Sad News: We received heartbreaking news today that Michael’s kidney transplant surgeon unexpectedly passed away yesterday and we are devastated to say the least. He fought hard for our boy right after transplant and still continued to. Please send prayers to his family, friends and colleagues as he was a pretty amazing man throughout Cooks and Texas Health.
GREAT NEWS: We are outta hereMichael got discharged today!!!
PLEASE CONTINUE YOU TO KEEP ALL IN PRAYERS!
