Just over 10 weeks ago Olivia received her new kidney (10/21/19). I am happy to report that all is well; her labs are great, the kidney is working as it should, she is full of energy and her usual sassiness – no complaints at all. My wife and I have been wanting to post an update about Olivia and Olaf (her kidney; “he likes warm hugs”) for some time now, but with the holidays we were hesitant to do so because we know there is a family out there missing their loved one and we didn’t want to cause them any additional pain. We don’t want to let 2019 slip by without thanking Olivia’s “Angel” Family; THANK YOU! That final selfless act has allowed Olivia to be a kid again. She avoided dialysis and all the horrors that accompany it, she isn’t grumpy anymore complaining her head is “foggy”, she no longer needs to nap the day away because she doesn’t have the energy to do anything. Her new kidney has given her a new lease on life and some new perspective of how valuable life is. We will never be able to thank you enough for what you have done, but please know that you will always be in our prayers, and in our hearts forever. Thank you.
