It’s hard to believe that its been 6 months since Olivia received her new kidney (Olaf)
She is doing great and feeling wonderful. We still don’t think she fully understands that the energy and feelings she is experiencing are what those of us with normal functioning kidneys feel like.
We held another COTA benefit in February and had the HONOR of meeting Olivia’s donor (her angel) family. Even though we did not know him, it turns out that some of his sisters knew of Olivia’s need for a new kidney and hoped that he would be a match. Some of our angel’s sisters were following Olivias situation via FaceBook as it ends up that some of them know some of our family and friends.
We all know the sayings “It’s a small world” and “God has a plan for everyone”. Any doubts my husband and I may have had about that in the past have definately been erased.
Now Olivia and Olaf are blessed with having new Aunts in the family. Once we are able to not have to practice social distancing anymore, we hope to get together so we can get even better acquainted.
We will forever hold close to our hearts the bond that Olivia and her new “Aunts” will always have.
We want to thank everyone for all of the love, support and well wishes that Olivia continues to receive.
Matt, Patrice, Olivia (and Olaf)
