We have some amazing news to share:
On Monday, October 21, Olivia was blessed with a kidney from a guardian angel! After surgery at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Olivia spent a few days in the pediatric intensive care unit under observation. Although we encountered a few scares, Olivia was the warrior we know she is and recovered quickly. After a few days in the PICU, Olivia passed all the requirements to move to a standard hospital room where she spent a few more days under observation. This past Monday, Olivia and her new kidney “Olaf” were released!
Olivia and Olaf are doing great, but the battle isn’t over yet. Kidney transplants and a week in the hospital will occur many expenses, and Olivia will more than likely require another kidney transplant in her life. The money raised for COTA for Team Olivia will always be available to Olivia to assist with any transplant costs. Please join us this Saturday at GoFish to show your support!
