Yesterday’s wean trial was unsuccessful. While she was fine on the lower settings of ECMO, when she was put on what was essentially the lowest possible setting, her blood pressure dropped and she was not able to recover it without the flow being turned back up. The doctors are going to try another trial today with some more aggressive medications to help support her blood pressure. We are all hopeful that one more day of rest, plus a little extra medication support will do the trick to get her off ECMO. The trial will likely be sometime in the mid-afternoon
