Post Op: Surgery went well… is in recovery. Surgeon said all looks good… trying to bring down his pain currently.
Day 2: Ryder unfortunately had a very rough night… not a high enough dose for pain meds… pain was and still has been at a 10… blood pressure was very high last night… doctor is finally adjusting the dosage… hoping he can get some relief… and some food and liquids in him… wil be here for a few more days as there is much to do before he goes home…
Day 3: Another long day of trying to manage his pain… finally seems to have the meds dialed in a bit better.
Day 4: Ryder had a better night… woke up sore but not as much pain… eating and drinking more… getting up and moving more… still not a happy camper but hopefully he is on the mend with pain meds on track.
Day 5: Pinch Me!!!! Someone’s sitting up on his own and there’s real food happening!!!!
Day 6: Ryder is home… arrived around 5:30 pm today, Friday. Glad he is home… words cannot describe how brave he’s been… he has 2 weeks of recovery from his surgery… then dialysis begins at home…although we return to his heavy daily medication routine… his injections… and his carefully measured and weighed out food plan… so glad he has forged thru this first phase with flying colors… for now the teaching begins for all of us to learn the ins and outs of administering dialysis at home.
