This is Sydney. She is the daughter of David and Ashley from Ingalls, Indiana.
Sydney is David and Ashley’s first child, born 11/24/2018. From the time baby Sydney was born she was diagnosed with what was thought to be a heart murmur and respiratory problems. When Ashley took Sydney for her regular two-month check-up, the doctor saw she wasn’t gaining weight like she should be so an echocardiogram was ordered. Later that day Ashley and David got the news that they immediately needed to take Sydney to Riley Hospital for Children.
Sydney was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Pulmonary Stenosis.Sydney’s startling diagnosis came with a realization that the health of their baby girl was in grave danger and she was in need of an infant heart transplant.
On May 6th Ashley and David received the call that a suitable heart was at last available, it began one of the best days in Sydney’s life – the most precious gift from the donor family’s loved one.
On May 7th Sydney went in for surgery and we were getting hourly updates of the surgery. It was the most scariest and happiest day at the same time. As the day went on the updates were encouraging and uplifting. About 8:30 pm, the surgeon came out and gave us the news that Sydney did great during surgery and was doing great!
After months at Riley Hospital for Children, Sydney was finally able to come home.
She has strong family genes in her and God will heal her. She is so very precious and a beautiful baby girl. To my Nephew and Niece inlaw David and Ashley I love both of you so very much and you have all of my continued prayers. Sincerely, Aunt Debbie
God is always perfect in his works!. David and Ashley, I will keep your precious family in my prayers. #TeamSydney
Re-reading her story and seeing her progress is mind boggling! From her early start in life as a tiny, frail baby to the healthy little girl she is today is nothing short of a miracle! Every time she crosses my mind, my thoughts go to the donor family. The decision they made at such a heartbreaking time in their lives made the difference between her life and death.
I am so grateful for the little hero angel that I’m sure is smiling down on her and her family. Thank you Jesus that their are doctors, researchers and scientists who have discovered a way to turn a tragedy for one person into a miracle for another. I ask God’s Blessings on this little one’s family and I hope they understand how very grateful and thankful we all are that Sydney is here, growing and thriving, because of their selfless act of love. So to that donor family, wherever you are, words aren’t enough to express our thanks, appreciation and gratitude for the gift you so selflessly bestowed on our family. Your precious angel crosses our minds and hearts daily. Bless you! ????
