Our Story

Everyone meet Trinity. She is currently 19 years old. In August 2019, at the age of 16, she went from our active, sporty girl to a tired and “sleeping a lot” girl. At first the family thought maybe she was just “at that age”, but then we noticed that she started getting short of breath very easily and her color became more pale by the day. Her dad and I decided she should see our PCP for a regular checkup and maybe some blood work just to make sure everything was okay. Little did we know, that appointment would be the beginning of her tough journey. Not more than 20 minutes after her appointment, the doctor’s office called and said that we needed to get her to the ER ASAP because her hemoglobin level was dangerously low being at a 6.5. They informed us that 6.5 was less than half of what it should be. That night at the ER was the first of many blood transfusions, which she has to have every 3 weeks to keep her alive. With it now being almost 3 years into her battle, the doctors are now concerned about the iron overload taking place in her heart, liver, and other organs. Her condition seems to be very rare and has even baffled her doctors. Trinity’s doctors at the Aflac Center at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta think that the best treatment for her is a bone marrow transplant at this point in time. Even after transplant there will be a continuing need for convalescent care such as medications and frequent trips to Atlanta for follow up care. 100% of donations will be used to help with transplant related expenses. Be assured that your donation is tax deductible, to the fullest extent of the law, to a charitable organization. If you would like, save the link to Trinity’s web page where you can follow her on her journey. Thank you all so very much for your love and support.
