Winston remains in the hospital as his team continues to monitor his GI issues. They performed a series of timed X-rays to rule out any obstructions, and thankfully the images came back clear. Parts of his bowels are dilated, which is causing a lot of painful, trapped gas. They are investigating potential, new food intolerances (including dairy), which is not uncommon after transplant. In the meantime, he is back on TPN nutrition, being administered through the port, and the new formula is going at a very low rate to help him get back up to speed while his bowels rest. He has lost some weight and will remain in the hospital until his formula rates are normal and he is no longer experiencing significant bowel distress. On a good note, his miver is doing great!
