As you could see from Winston’s picture posted yesterday, the “superhero” has started some physical therapy to get back to walking, despite the leg and arm fractures (from the brittle bones); the various IV points on his arms and legs (because the main port has not been reliable, creating more “pokes” in his extremities for blood draws); and the main port malfunctions on his chest (the needle portion was removed several days ago, but the port area is still bleeding slightly). His fever is down, but antibiotics are still needed daily. Winston’s new liver continues to work exactly as it should though. The recovery routine just has stops and starts. The parents did relay to us though that he is slowly getting back to his old self emotionally each day. An example of this was yesterday’s eating sampling which consisted of eggs, sausage, pancakes, cheese, bread, oranges, sherbet ice cream, fritos, pizza, spinach, butter, pineapples and ranch dressing! That’s the boy we know and love who tries everything!
Megan is home, enjoying her family and recovering well!
God is good!
