With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. Volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant recipient toddler, Theo Crum.
Theo is the son of Christopher and Melissa Crum. Born on October 29, 2013, Theo was diagnosed with Glycogen Storage Disease Type 4. The doctors at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri recommended a life-saving liver transplant. On October 11, 2015 Theo was blessed with a new liver thanks to organ donation. We continue to pray for the donor and donor family as we are forever thankful. Our brave warrior, Theo must receive ongoing regular medical tests as well as many doctor and hospital visits. Theo continues to fight through medical hurdles and we continue to pray for a positive outcome.
