February/March Update

Hi! It has been a bit since we have updated, we have had a busy couple of months! Of course it is cold and flu season, and our house was hit a few times unfortunately. But we have had a lot of positives!

In February, the Culvers on Douglas in Racine hosted a restaurant night for COTA for Theo Strong. The whole team there could not have been more amazing. They made a fun goodie bag for Theo, helped us raise money for COTA for Theo Strong, and the restaurant made a donation themselves to bring our total to $2,000 raised that night for COTA for Theo Strong! Thank you so much!!

Theo turned 9 years old in March! He had a great birthday party and got lots of fun new gifts.

We also attended our first big event planned by our fundraising crew, a Zumbathon for COTA for Theo Strong. It was such a fun day. Thank you to everyone who helped with the event, we appreciate you all so much!

Theo also had a big appointment with the transplant team at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in March. His kidney function has decreased to about 23%, and once he is fully typed, he will be put on the transplant list officially. Overall his doctors are happy with how his numbers are decreasing steadily, that is the best case scenario. While we don’t know an exact date for transplant, this news does mean it is definitely coming closer.  Theo’s next appointment will be in June. Eric, Theo’s dad, will be scheduling his appointment soon at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee to go through the process to see if he will be eligible to be Theo’s donor.

Thank you all for your continued prayers!
