Great Day Tj was discharged from the transplant floor and now he can stay with his family at the Ronald Mcdonald house. Yay!! This is a test run to see if we can handle all of his care and if Tj is stable enough to be out of the hospital.Tj has breathing treatments with manual compressions every four hours. Also he has to have his blood sugar checked every three hours. Tj can only eat right after we check his blood sugar so we can get an idea of how is blood sugar will range. The doctors are monitoring very closely how much Tj is taking in also how much he is urinating and moving his bowels. TJ must still have checks on his kidneys because of the high ranges after surgery. The doctors have not been able to lower his feed amount yet because he is not eating or drinking enough. A medication to get him to eat has been prescribed. He was so tired by the time he left, he just was looking at the nurses while they sent him off. The nurses made a huge deal about Tj progressing to the next step. They cheered, blew bubbles, and waved pom poms for him. Everyone is so happy and in awe of how well Tj is doing so quickly. He has had some bumps and bruises along the way, but he never gives up and neither will we.
