A Rocky Night, But Tj Continues To Fight

Like all good fighters there are some rounds in the fight that gets a little rocky and last night Tj had a pretty rough night, as he was in a great deal of pain and had three seizures. The doctors have Tj transitioning from IV pain medication to G tube medication, this is pertinent, because the medication delivery has to be switched in order for Tj to leave the ICU. The switching of the medication delivery is just item on a check list of things that has be accomplished to be transferred to the transplant floor.

The family is so excited that Tj is moving his legs all around and being silly after his pain medication has kicked in. Tj was able to sit up on his own for about 1.5 minutes, which is more than yesterday. Every additional minute he sits up on his own is small victory in this fight!

Another victory today is Tj’s blood pressure, sodium, magnesium and potassium were all in normal range. The doctors are keeping and eye on his hemoglobin (blood levels) because they have slightly decreased. They are also continuing to monitor his urine output, because the catheter has now been removed. Although he has had some hick ups. He is still fighting and smiling.
