We are 36 days post Total Pancreatectomy with inlet auto transplant. Abbey has been regaining all her energy and gaining energy I didn’t know she had in her. We have been released from physical therapy which is great news! We actually only made it to the post op evaluation and they said she’s perfect. We went down last week to only 10hr feeds over night since she has been gaining weight at an extremely fast rate. Over the weekend she managed to break her tube yet again and was okayed to leave it as is until her appointment Thursday morning. Hopefully as long as she still maintained heathy weight gain we could see it finally come out! We are still working with pain management since abs is still getting pretty crampy during the evenings but it’s getting better. Her sugars are also more manageable than what we were initially thinking. We have had a pretty tight grasp on them. Tonight we had to call and go down on her ratios since she kept dropping. All of that is a great sign that her body is starting to respond to the transplant and compensate for her missing parts. We aren’t sure how much longer we will be here but it’s looking to be getting all of the okays sooner then later.
