Post surgery day 2

Our girl continues to show how strong she is! After a long night of off and on discomfort, she started becoming more aware of everything. Couple of tweaks here and there allowed us to continue to ensure her pain was better controlled, but her high sensory kicked into gear, irritated with the nose tubes, the toe light, the type of socks for PT, and others. She was able to get one of her IVs removed, her oxygen support turned off, and her catheter removed! Slowly these machines are dwindling and hopefully tomorrow we can continue to shed them. She had PT twice today, sitting up, TAKING STEPS, and sitting with mom and dad. Tomorrow we push to be able to walk more, so hopefully her night is full of rest and strength gaining. Abs had her first sponge bath post surgery and did not like it, she may have gotten dad’s control seeking gene.
Mom, Dad, and Auntie got a hotel for the rest of the week while we wait on Ronald McDonald and we are using it for shower/rest stops. Dad takes the night shifts, mom and auntie take the day. Balance is key. We’ve been able to make sure to eat throughout the day and have gotten very good at shiftwork. We want to give Mom as much rest now as we can, as she has the tough gig of solo work after next Thursday.
