The good comes the bad.

We have good days we have had days. Today was a bad day. We are 10days out of surgery and have had a few complications that Abs is still trying to battle causing our stay in the PICU to be longer than expected. Abbey had formed an ileus in her intestine causing her extreme pain and a long delay in her bowls starting to pick back up. We also discovered a Chyle Leak, meaning she has some damage of her lymphatic system during surgery causing fluid to leak that isn’t supposed to leak. With the leak we have had to change formulas to the lowest fat formula they have and just wait it out. Abbey has also been vomiting bile every day for the past 6 days and we are still stumped as to why. It makes no sense since it’s hard for her stomach to do that since her  intestines have been reconfigured. She has everyone still chasing glucose level and has all the doctors stumped. Today Abbey has no interest in getting out of bed and moving. So much so that we were in the beginning of OT about to walk the halls and the therapist looked at her and said she was in too much pain and we would just try again later. Well later never came because she has just been sleeping. We are going at Abbeys pace but it’s a very very slow pace.
