Its been 3 long weeks since Violet was admitted this time around. She was set to be discharged on Wednesday, but an x-ray revealed that she has air in her intestine. I’m not sure exactly what this means. I know it can be caused by rotavirus, which she recently had, it’s rare but more common in patients who have had a liver transplant. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be safe for Violet to be discharged without treating this issue first, she’s currently on bowel rest she had a picc line placed and was started on tpn which she will continue for 1-2 weeks. Her team is hoping it will clear up on its own but she may need a colonoscopy to find out more about what’s going on.
