It’s been a while since I gave an update on Violet. Violet was discharged 3 weeks after her transplant. She was doing so good at home, she’s finally started crawling and she was showing interest in food for the first time in her life. Overall she’s more energetic, more playful, and so much more comfortable. She’s like a completely different baby than she was before her transplant.
Unfortunately Violet was readmitted to the hospital a little over a week ago after some of her lab work came back elevated. I honestly don’t even know how to explain everything that’s going on right now. She has cytomegalovirus (CMV), which is very common after transplant. She’s also here for possible mild rejection and her team is also worried about her possibly having sepsis. Right now it’s just a waiting game. Check labs, adjust meds, repeat. We’re taking it day by day right now, everything has been very up and down so we’re hoping things will start moving in the right direction so we can get this baby girl out of the hospital and back home where she belongs.
Although Violet is back in the hospital, she’s been in good spirits for the most part. She’s happy to have her brothers here to keep her company and we’re continuing to work on her developmental skills just like we do at home. We’re clinging on to what little bit of normalcy that we can here and hoping that we’ll be home again soon. Thank you to everyone who has kept my brave girl in your prayers 💜
