Hello everyone. It has been a while since we posted on this page and we hope you are all doing well in this time of crisis. Our family is still taking everything day by day while waiting for a call that our Yosef will be getting a new heart or that his heart has recovered.
And just recently, we received a little light of hope from his cardiologist that his heart is recovering (Praise God!). Although he is still on the transplant wait list, if everything looks good on his next echocardiogram, doctors will have a discussion whether they will try to wean him off his Berlin (the machine that functions as his temporary heart). We are not closer to getting him weaned yet, it will take a lot of decision making involving his care team and a bunch of checklists to make sure he is heading that direction. But they could definitely see his condition is improving. We wanted to share this news to you all because you have been a part of our journey.
Thank you for your prayers. Indeed, God is listening and we continue to praise Him for this miracle. Please continue to include his complete recovery in your daily prayers.
Here is an updated photo of him. He has gained weight, very active and speaks simple word such as “mama, dada, tata, baba”. Therapists are doing a wonderful job of helping him reach his milestones.
