It was a very long day for the Surgical Team, Ellen, Pat, and Theresa (Ellen’s sister and brother-in-law), lasting approximately 14 hours from start to finish. Hopefully, everyone was able to get some much-needed rest afterward. We are deeply thankful for all the prayers and encouraging words for Zach and our family. We know God has His hands on Zach’s life.
Zach was moved to the ICU around 2:15 a.m. The doctors said his strong physical condition is serving him well, and his numbers throughout the morning have been excellent. They shared that he’s right on track for recovery during and after surgery. The breathing tube was removed in the operating room after the anesthesiologist was satisfied with his oxygen levels.
Time for physical and occupational therapy session. They are impressed with his mobility at this point after surgery. The Pain management doctor is good with him at this time.
Great News PT is impressed! They have not seen someone moving like Zach just did for them the day after TPITP procedure. He is a strong kid!!!
Today brought a mix of gains and setbacks as pain levels fluctuated and medications were adjusted, impacting oxygen levels and temporary blurred vision, likely due to medication. The team has been very attentive, and we are confident that although Zach has an uphill battle in the coming days and weeks, we know he is strong and will persevere.
Please continue to pray for him as he recovers, and be watchful for the upcoming COTA Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser happening Thursday, February 26th. Details coming soon!
