Just wanted to share a little update on Zach’s journey. Things have been a bit rough lately; it feels like for every step forward, we take two steps back — but we’re staying hopeful that the weekend will bring some improvement.

Earlier this week, Zach made some great progress. Most of his IVs were removed, he started eating solid foods, and his medications were switched from IV to oral. Unfortunately, his stomach just wasn’t ready for the change. He got sick and hasn’t been able to eat for a couple of days.

Because the transplanted cells need proper nutrition to survive, the doctors inserted a PICC line today so he can receive the nutrients he needs without upsetting his stomach while he recovers. This will help keep the cells healthy and give his body time to heal.

Please continue to keep Zach in your prayers.

We also want to say thank you to each and every person who has shared our posts, prayed for us, made a donation, or sent cards and gifts. Your love and support truly mean the world to us and have helped lift his spirits more than you know.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
