We are so thankful for all the prayers and support. Over the last couple of days, we’ve seen Zach turn an encouraging corner, and it has lifted our spirits in a big way.
His infection is responding well to the antibiotics, and he’s starting to eat more throughout the day. Today, Zach’s mom, Ellen, began a 48-hour stretch managing his diabetes care on her own without assistance from the nursing staff. The medical team is working closely with her to make sure she feels confident and fully prepared to handle everything when Zach goes home.
If all continues to go well through the weekend, Zach is expected to be discharged on Monday. After that, they will stay at the Ronald McDonald House for the next three weeks while continuing to meet regularly with the medical team.
As a reminder, our Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner will be held next Thursday, February 26, beginning at 4:30 PM at Palermo Community Church, located at 11 County Route 35, Palermo, NY.
Also, please keep an eye out for more details about an upcoming online auction.
Thank you all again for the continued prayers, love, and support — it truly means so much to our family.
