For everyone who has been following Zach’s journey, we wanted to share that we are finally home safe. We feel incredibly blessed to have such amazing family, friends, and members of our surrounding communities who have reached out during this time. Thank you to everyone who sent Zach encouraging cards, activities to keep him busy while he was away, shared our fundraising efforts, prayed for him, and came out to support our fundraiser. Your kindness and support have meant more to us than words can express.
Zach has a long road ahead, but by God’s grace, he is doing well. He will be traveling back to Ohio every three months for a three-day stay so doctors can perform procedures and monitor the progress of the islet cell transplant.
If the cells begin to recover and grow within the next year, there is a good chance that Zach may not remain diabetic or need to rely on insulin for the rest of his life. We continue to stay hopeful and grateful for all the love and support surrounding him.
ALL OUR LOVE TO YOU ALL!
