Bloomington, Indiana — June 10, 2019 — The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) will host its 6th Annual Miracle Maker Celebration on Saturday evening, June 22nd at the SILO Auto Club & Conservancy in Indianapolis. This year’s event will recognize and honor the many contributions provided by more than 200,000 Miracle Makers (volunteers and supporters) nationwide.

COTA is a national charity dedicated to helping families of children and young adults who need life-saving transplants. Each year COTA works with thousands of Miracle Makers across the country to organize fundraising activities and organ/tissue donor awareness events. COTA Miracle Makers nationwide help remove the financial barriers facing transplant families.

“The 2019 Miracle Maker Celebration recognizes our nationwide network of volunteers and contributors who day in and day out make a life-saving difference for our transplant families,” said Rick Lofgren, COTA’s President. “Thanks to more than three decades of support from our Miracle Makers, COTA is able to give transplant families hope for a brighter tomorrow.”

At this year’s event, COTA’s 2019 George Taliaferro Miracle Maker Award will be presented to Nick Lynum. Nick is the CEO and Founder of Glasir Capital Partners in Phoenix, Arizona, and has been a generous advocate of COTA and our families for several years. Nick has been a member of COTA’s President’s Advisory Council since 2006. He is also the founder of God’s Will Foundation, which is a charity dedicated to helping children.

According to Lofgren, “Nick’s commitment to COTA kids, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit and his love of family, are why he has been selected to be our George Taliaferro Miracle Maker of the Year.”

This year’s event emcee will be Angela Cain who is a former Indianapolis television news anchor. Angela is an Emmy award-winning, former news anchor and reporter who regularly blogs and produces other digital content about issues that matter most to audiences nationwide.

Major sponsors for COTA’s 2019 Miracle Maker Celebration include Comprehensive Financial Consultants, Hern Family LLP, Scott and Nikki Ganton, Tim and Cheri DeBruicker, The Lofgren Family, Cook Medical, Medtronic, Atlanta Cap, John Simmons & Morris Group, Kathleen McNeely, Novartis, Sun King Brewery, Walgreens, Katz, Sapper & Miller and Taft Stettinius & Hollister, LLP.

COTA parents Elizabeth and Greg Rogers of Loveland, Ohio, will share their family’s transplant journey to date and the role COTA has played in it. Their toddler, Henry, received a life-saving kidney transplant in May 2018. Elizabeth and Greg decided to partner with COTA for fundraising assistance and family support – and are very glad they did. Their story illustrates why COTA is the Trusted Leader Supporting Transplant Families … For a Lifetime.
