Our Story
Our 29-month-old grandson Austin was diagnosed with Prune-belly syndrome and end-stage renal disease early in pregnancy, and the prognosis was grim. Yet, defying expectations, Austin entered this world at 32 weeks and has thrived. Now, almost 3 years later, his sweetness, intelligence, and strength inspire us daily. After being transferred to Seattle for life-saving dialysis at just 3 days old, Austin spent 3.5 months fighting for his life, followed by 1.5 months in Boise before finally coming home. Though his immune system remains fragile, Austin’s resilience shines through in every battle.
We are partnering with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to raise funds in honor of Austin to assist with lifetime of transplant-related expenses.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
